October

Another busy month. You know, maybe I should start splitting these blogs up more. They are getting to be quite large. Every month seems to be packed with a ton of stuff. Then again, things will slow down for a while once this new baby comes for sure. Then you might be lucky to get more than a picture or two and some thoughts while I'm nursing ;) October is always busy. We have a lot of fun traditions this month one of which is the pumpkin patch. The kids love going here every year--riding the ponies, feeding the animals, going on a hayride, the corn maze, the monster slide, and picking out a pumpkin.

Is it just me or is it impossible to get a good picture of all of your offspring??

My sister came to town for a week and we had so much fun playing with her and cousin Ty. Pics are courtesy of my sis and sorry for the repeat if you visit her blog! She's the pro!

LOVE this pic of Kaia at Lake Hefner...

And did I mention we are pregnant within two weeks of each other? We got comments everywhere we went. My poor husband. He said he felt like Warren Jeffs.
Our baby girls are going to have some fun together :) So glad you could come visit Celeste! Love ya!

Then grandma and grandpa came to visit and we traveled down to Dallas for the BYU vs. TCU game. What a waste :( But our misery was short-lived because we rented a cabin in Beaver's Bend for the rest of the weekend. We had so much fun! We rode the train, caught crawdads, went swimming, caught a million bugs (even a baby tarantula), and rode horses. It was Kaia's first time riding a horse by herself and I have never seen her so happy. It looks like horse riding lessons next spring :) Brandt loved the crawdads. He was fearless. He thought daddy was being a little too timid with them and kept getting frustrated saying, "Dad, c'mon, they won't bite!" Tatum loved catching the "buggies." She has a little of Brandt's fearlessness which can be a little unnerving when you are finding huge spiders and who knows what else in the forest. After all that fun Brandt says, "This was the best day of my life mom!" At night we played scripture charades which was hilarious! I'm thinking I should really enroll Brandt in some drama lessons...

Fast forward to some more October traditions like pumpkins! The kids painted pumpkins this year and carved jack o' lanterns.

Then we decorated Halloween cookies, Tatum's favorite!

Then the big day finally came! Kaia and Brandt would mentally keep a countdown of the days until trick or treating! Kaia picked out a cat costume this year, Brandt was Batman (he slept, ate, and played in his costume for weeks), and Tatum was Tigger. We headed up north to go with some friends and the kids got quite the haul. Tatum was in heaven, and her candy only lasted one day! Of course she would open a lot of it, try it or decide it didn't look that good and promptly throw it in the trash. Totally fine by me! Now she just waits for her siblings to leave their candy in reach and takes theirs.

The Smith/Christensen crew ready to go!

How you know it's time to go home...

Love the Batman costume. Too bad Batman and the Joker couldn't be together for Halloween!

Too fun about the horse lessons. Thanks so much again for having us out, it was a blast. We'll have to make that a yearly tradition (so long as you guys are living out there). Ty still talks about "Rachel's garage".

Do you want me to email you those pics? Love you guys.

Oh and I laughed out loud at Brandt saying "this was the best day of my life!" And that picture of Tatum staring at her Skittles. In fact, I'm still laughing about it.
